Sherley Odell Jones, Sr. born June 5, 1951, departed his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 12, 2026. He was the son of the late Janie B. Bryant and the late Brue Buford, Sr.

At an early age Sherley was baptized at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.R. Bridgewater. After returning home from his active military duties, he joined Fountain Creek U.P.B. Church. There he became an ordain Deacon.

Sherley honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army, National Guard and U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Navy with the honor of being a Chief Boatswain's Mate (BMC).

He was a member of a vast number of organizations including American Legion Post 170, College Hill Neighborhood Watch, City of Columbia Citizen Police Academy and Maury County Sheriff's Department Citizens Academy.

He was proceeded in death by his son, Sherley Odell Jones, Jr, (Adriene Brown). Sisters Angela Warfield and Thelma (Oscar) Drake and brothers Fredrick Bryant and Bruce Buford, Jr, He leaves to cherish his memories and love to his devoted wife, Jacqueline H. Jones. Sons Ivan

Jones and Omar Jones, Sr. (Deborah Jones), Daughters Bettina (Dexrinto) Sharp and Tiffany Jones.

Grandchildren De'Oriyan Sharp, Sakoyia Webb, Sandia Bodie Amaria Robinson and Omar Jones, Jr. God children Jaiden Garnder and Journey Garnder.

Brothers Jerry (Barbra) and Micheal (Karen) Bryant. Sisters Rhonda Burkeen, Deloris Lewis, Gloria Bryant and Karen Bryant,

Sister-in-laws Devora Barner and Cheryl Goodman, Brother - in -laws Gerard (Deborah) Harlan, Winston (Renea) Harlan and Warren (Vickie) Harlan.

Devoted cousins Robert Davidson and Anthony Davidson. Devoted lifelong friend Thomas Short.

The Buford Family and a host of nephews and nieces, cousins and friends
