Kordelle Latae McKissack was born on May 20, 1968 to James

Henry McKissack and Mary Annette McKissack Carter. He departed

this life on Father's Day, June 21, 2026 at TriStar Centennial

Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father,

James McKissack, brother-in-law, Rodney Hubbard, step-father,

Charlie Carter, Sr., step-sister, Sylvia Pipkin, and step-brother,

Charlie Carter, Jr.

Kordelle was educated in the Maury County School System and was

a graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, majoring

in Criminal Justice. He was baptized into Christ at the Church of

Christ at Newtown, where he was a faithful, loyal and dedicated

member until his departure. Even in his sickness, he still attended

worship and performed services assigned to him.

He loved to serve and protect. He carried this out through his

career in law enforcement and S.W.A.T. in Tennessee and Florida.

After returning to Tennessee, he worked at Ryder as a supervisor

for seven years.

Kordelle loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target

shooting, firearms training, martial arts, watching TV and eating

with his mom, Sunday dinners at his aunt Shelia's home, watching

movies with his children, and spoiling his grandchildren. He truly

enjoyed life and people. He was a kind person who never said no

when someone needed his help.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted mother,

Mary Carter; sisters, Katondra Hubbard, Malenche Marable, and his

step-sister, Janiece (Jewell) Gaither; his brother Zophar Armstrong

and step-brothers, Michael (Carol) and Armond Carter; his children,

L'Shaun, Jasmine, Kason, and Jaiden McKissack; his grandchildren,

I'marri, Marquez, Joshua, L'Nya, Kylo-Levi, and Amani; his aunts,

Shelia Smith, Roberta Mitchell, Margaret Lee, and Phyllis Lee;

devoted family and friends, Marcus Wade, Keith Davis, Reggie

Smith, Eldridge Smith, John C. Lee, Jr., Rex Lee, Chester Lee, La-

Bron Johnson, Matt Gregory and a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins, and friends.

.  Visitation with family Friday from 3 to 6 pm at New Town Church of Christ and Sat at 11:00 with Funeral to follow at 12noon at Newtown Church of Christ.  Burial Monday10:00 at Pinecrest Cemetery.  Baxter Bros is assisting family with arrangements.
