Life Reflections of Ida Godwin McFall

Ida McFall, 96 years young, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Sam and Gracie Lee Godwin. On June 20, 2025 she breathed her last breath and sweetly departed from the pain and suffering of this old world.

Ida graduated from I.C. Norcum High School in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1947. She met the love of her life Carl McFall Sr. at the Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. They united and moved back to Columbia, TN to have a family of 5 loving children.

She worked at College Hill Elementary school as a cook, a factory worker at Tennessee Knitting Mill and worked at First Farmers and Merchants bank as a janitor.

Some of her hobbies was quilting, knitting, crocheting and singing.

She, along with her husband Carl McFall, Sr. were instrumental in establishing the Macedonia Church of Christ from the inception and has been a loyal member until her health began to decease.

She was a pillar in the community, she said what she meant and meant what she said. She was an encourager and a motivator. She was a mother to anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl McFall Sr: two sisters Florence Avery, and Anna Banks, one brother Paul Godwin and her nephew James ( Larry)  Avery.

Ida leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Aaron McFall, Diane McFall Davis, Carl 'Pete' (Twanda) McFall, Jr., Nashville, TN;  Paul McFall, Jennifer (Cedra) McFall,  Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Keith, Carlos, Cassandra,  Corey, Menia, Adrian, Kevin, Brandon, Phylicia, Keontra, Jayden, Jordon, Cree, and Cruz; 25 great- grandchildren;  10 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in law, Baby Lou McFall Baxter, Lillian Bee McFall; brother-in-law, Charles (Yvonne) McFall; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends; and a son by another mother, Minister Lazerius "Herb" Davis, Newtown Church of Christ, Spring Hill, TN.

Visitation with famiuly Sat11am at Macedonia Church of Christ with funeral to follow at 12 noon.  Burial Rosemount Cemetery.  The body will lie instate Fri from 12 to 4pm at Baxter Bros Funeral Home.
